Resident Resources

NATIONAL AND CALIFORNIA

At WinnResidential our goal is to deliver service that exceeds expectations by listening, responding, caring and pursuing positive experiences for our
residents throughout their residency and beyond.

We know this is an unprecedented time of uncertainty and anxiety for our residents. We also know that many of our residents are suffering from job losses, furloughs and reduced hours.

Help is Available

WinnResidential has compiled a list of resources and endeavored to present them in a concise, organized manner. The following pages of this document identify national and local resources that provide assistance.

Residents are responsible for verifying the validity of each resource
independently.

In addition to the resources on the following pages, WinnResidential’s Connected Communities team has partnered with Aunt Bertha to create CONNECT, an online platform for residents to search for free and reduced-cost services like food, healthcare, job opportunities, benefits enrollment, rent assistance and more, all in one place. This database will be updated daily and is available for every zip code in the United States. The website is connect.winncompanies.com.

Emergency resources related to COVID-19 can be found by searching with the tag “COVID19” or COVID-19 Response Program” in the CONNECT search box.

Enhanced Unemployment Benefits

If you have lost your job, you can apply for state unemployment benefits. Links and websites are available on the following pages.

Congress is enhancing state unemployment to provide more income and to cover more people.

·         Adds $600 per week for four months on top of state unemployment.

·         Adds up to 13 weeks of additional unemployment benefits to those already enrolled but who are nearing the end of benefits.

·         Expands the program to include a number of workers not normally eligible to receive unemployment benefits. This includes:

o   Freelancers

o   Independent contractors/gig workers

o   Self-employed

o   Those with limited work history

o   Employees who are still employed, but whose hours have been reduced

It is important to apply as soon as possible.  To help expedite aid, the federal government is funding the first week of benefits to encourage states to waive traditional waiting periods, but it may still take a couple of weeks to be processed.
